Head Start helps prepare children for kindergarten by helping them develop cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically in a positive learning environment. Our program is geared toward giving both the child and family a “head start” by focusing on individual needs to build self-sufficiency.
The learning environment supports growth in:
- Language and literacy
- General knowledge
- Nutrition (free meals through CACFP)
- Social-emotional development
Other services determined by a family assessment are also provided.
Applications (click below) are accepted year-round for income-eligible families. Children must be three or four years old on or before September 30 of the enrollment year. Children with disabilities are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for services on or after their third birthday. We also take into consideration factors that may put the family at risk.
